WFN Strategies engineers submarine and terrestrial optical cable, satellite and RF systems (microwave, broadband wireless, WiMAX/WiFi, trunked radio). We prepare detailed engineering designs to transform theoretical telecom system architectures and concepts into real world solutions. Such engineering designs include the necessary components for an integrated system solution for projects of local, regional, and international scope.
Our engineers review the technology options for a planned infrastructure, identify key factors driving the selection of the technology and recommend the technology to be used. The selection of technology for the subsea plant, for example, will depend on the landing site and routing selected. Other technology related decisions are then made, including the fibre count to be included in a prospective cable, the initial and ultimate bandwidth requirements, potential expansion to other assets over the life of the system, and the location and function of network managers.
